Tongue cancer, a form of head and neck cancer, is classified as either mouth or oropharyngeal cancer based on its origin. It starts either at the front (oral tongue) or back (base of the tongue). Main treatments include surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. Risk factors comprise smoking, heavy alcohol use, and HPV infection. Symptoms often include persistent spots or lumps on the tongue.
