Liver cancer, also known as primary liver cancer, is a type of cancer that originates in the liver. The most prevalent type of liver cancer is hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). If the cancer has originated in another part of the body and spread to the liver, it's classified as secondary liver cancer. Primary liver cancer is relatively uncommon. More frequently, cancers found in the liver are secondary.
